Founded in 1984, The Wercs, Ltd. initiated the development of a regulatory compliance system for GE Silicones. In 1988, this system was rolled out in 12 languages to GE’s business units around the world. In 1993, The Wercs developed the client-server (Windows) PC-based solution.

Since that time, many international, US and European companies have adopted the 32-bit, Windows client-server solution. The WERCS soon became known as the functional leader in the MSDS software arena, providing industrial strength, worldwide environmental and regulatory compliance solutions to the chemical manufacturing and related industries.

Contributing to this was the revolutionary Expert RuleWriter, European Rule Wizard, and our incorporation of a standard (English, French, German, and Japanese) customizable multi-lingual graphical user interface (GUI).

In 1996, a major U.S.-based, worldwide chemical company hired the prestigious Gartner Group to survey and recommend the best regulatory compliance software in the industry. Their answer was unequivocally, The WERCS.
